Solar & Sigenergy Backup Integration

The Brief

Following a home-wide air conditioning upgrade, this client’s electrical demand increased significantly. They needed a robust renewable system that could handle the new cooling loads while shielding them from rising energy costs and potential grid instability.

Engineering the Solution

We designed a high-performance system across three different roof orientations to maximize generation from sunrise to sunset. The setup includes:

• 24x 465w DMEGC Panels: Optimized for maximum self-consumption.

• 20kWh SIGENERGY Storage: Large-scale capacity to store solar and cheap off-peak energy.

• Solar iBoost: Diverting excess solar power to heat the property’s hot water for free.

Resilience & Future-Proofing

A key feature of this install is the Whole Home Backup gateway. In the event of a power cut, the home seamlessly switches to battery power, keeping lights, refrigeration, and essential circuits running.

By combining strategic charging on an off-peak EV tariff with maximum solar harvest, this property now operates almost entirely on low-cost or “free” energy for six months of the year—even with the high demand of air conditioning and EV charging.
