EV Charger & Home Safety Upgrade

The Brief: Safety First for a New Home

This project highlights why we always conduct a thorough assessment before any installation. A first-time homeowner contacted Lampern Renewables to install an EV charger but wisely requested an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) to understand the health of their new property’s wiring.

The Findings & Rectification

Working with our trusted electrical contractor partner, the EICR revealed that the property’s existing wiring was not up to modern standards and could not safely support the high-current demand of a dedicated EV charger.

To ensure the property was safe and regulation-compliant, our partners completed:

• A Full Domestic Rewire: Replacing outdated cables.

• New Consumer Unit Installation: Featuring modern safety breakers and surge protection.

• Upgraded Earthing and Bonding: Crucial for both home safety and EV charger performance.

EV Charger Installation: Hypervolt Home Pro 3

Once the infrastructure was fully modernized, we returned to install the Hypervolt Home Pro 3. We chose this unit for its reliability, smart integration, and clean aesthetic. Because the home had been rewired to current standards, we were able to install a dedicated EV circuit that offers maximum efficiency and complete peace of much for the homeowner.

The Outcome

What started as a “simple” charger request evolved into a mission-critical safety project. The client was guided through the entire process, reducing the stress of their first home purchase while ensuring they have a future-proofed electrical system and a top-tier charging solution.
